Everything you need to get the most out of PocketBind — how scanning works, how the binder is organized, and how sharing and privacy work.
Getting started
Sign in from the PocketBind sign-in screen — no separate PocketBind password to create or remember.
Once you're in, tap + Scan cards to add your first card, or explore the Binder, Want list, and Sold & traded tabs from the sidebar (desktop) or bottom navigation (mobile).
Scanning a card
- Photograph the front of a card — the back too, if you want serial and cert details captured.
- PocketBind's AI reads the player, team, year, set, parallel, card number, and serial number automatically.
- Review the fields before saving. The AI is very good, but not infallible — it's worth a quick check, especially on less common parallels or short prints.
Binder & Want List
Binder is what you own. Want list is what you're chasing, with an optional max price you're willing to pay for each card.
- Switch between grid view (3 cards across, paginated) and list view.
- Filter by team, set, or year, or narrow to cards that still need a price or are professionally graded.
- Search by player, set, parallel, or card number from the toolbar.
Grading & Sold/Traded
Mark a card's grading status as submitted (with a date) or back from the grader (with a cert number, once it returns).
When you sell or trade a card, mark it sold/traded with a price and date — PocketBind calculates your gain or loss and moves it into Sold & traded history. Restoring a card brings it back to your active binder.
Sets & Checklists
- Browse the Sets tab to see every set in PocketBind's catalog, each with a full checklist and a running completion percentage.
- Open View checklist to search by player or card number, and to collapse or expand subsets within a large set.
- Completion is based on year, set name, and card number — different parallels of the same card number all count toward the same slot.
- Don't see a set you're working on? Use Request a set — an admin can add it to the shared catalog.
Trade Match & Community
- Turn on Visible to other PocketBind users in your profile settings to appear in Community under a display name.
- Open another collector's public binder and tap Trade match to see what you have that they want, and what they have that you want — computed automatically from both want lists.
- Turn on Let other users email me about Trade Match results and add a contact email to get a one-tap Email about this trade button on your matches.
Privacy
Your cost and estimated value never leave your own account. Anyone viewing a shared or public binder — friend or stranger — sees your cards, not what you paid or what you think they're worth.
You control whether you're listed in Community at all, and separately, whether your email is exposed for trade contact. Both are off by default.
Your data
Export your collection as a CSV or a full backup from the gear menu at any time. Import a backup or CSV to bring cards back in.
FAQ
Is PocketBind free?
Yes — PocketBind is free to use.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. PocketBind is a Progressive Web App — open it in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen; it works like a native app.
Does PocketBind buy or sell cards?
No. PocketBind is a collection tracker, not a marketplace. Trade Match tells you who might want to trade with you — you work out the trade yourselves.
How accurate is the AI scan?
Very, but not perfect — always double-check the fields before saving, especially for unusual parallels or short-printed cards.
Who can see my collection?
Nobody, by default. You choose to share a binder with a specific person, or make your profile public to the whole PocketBind community — and either way, your costs and values stay private.
